announces a recruitment for the vacant position of
VIOLA – TUTTI MUSICIAN
1. Formal requirements
- Higher education in music (completed or in progress).
- Readiness to take up full-time employment as of 1 January 2026.
- Polish citizenship or citizenship of the European Union or other countries whose citizens are entitled to employment in this position under international agreements or EU law, provided the candidate has communicative knowledge of the Polish language.
2. Additional requirements
- Ability to work in an ensemble.
- Very good instrumental performance skills.
- Good command of English will be an asset.
3. Employment
- Full-time position as tutti orchestral musician.
4. Scope of duties
- Work as a tutti musician in the orchestra.
- Participation in concerts, festivals, music courses, and other artistic and promotional activities, including film, television, multimedia, and recording projects; participation in rehearsals, open general rehearsals (tutti), sectional rehearsals; preparation for duties and improvement of performance skills within individual artistic work – in line with the main goals of Sinfonietta Cracovia as defined in its statute.
5. Working conditions and remuneration
- Type of contract: employment contract.
- Working time: see point 3.
- Salary: PLN 7,500 – 8,000 gross, average monthly salary including base salary and additional artistic work, in accordance with the Orchestra's Remuneration Regulations.
- Place of work: the seat of Sinfonietta Cracovia at ul. Władysława Łokietka 14, Krakow, and concert venues in Poland and abroad.
- Working hours: according to the monthly schedule.
- Work in the Artistic Ensemble of the Orchestra of the Capital Royal City of Krakow Sinfonietta Cracovia.
- Readiness to start work on 1 January 2026.

6. Required documents

7. Application deadline and submission

Invitations to the audition will be sent by 14 October 2025.

8. Auditions
Auditions will take place on:
20 October 2025 at the seat of the Orchestra of the Capital Royal City of Krakow Sinfonietta Cracovia, ul. Władysława Łokietka 14, Krakow.
Candidates will be invited to the audition based on their submitted CVs describing artistic achievements and fulfilling formal requirements. Invitations will include details on the exact time and place.
9. Audition programme
The audition will consist of three stages, the first stage held behind a screen.
Stage 1 (behind a screen)
C. Stamitz – Viola Concerto in D major op. 1 (1st movement with cadenza of candidate’s choice)
OR
F. A. Hoffmeister – Viola Concerto in D major (1st movement with cadenza of candidate’s choice)
Two contrasting movements from any of the following:
J. S. Bach – Six Cello Suites (transcribed for viola)

The programme may be performed from memory or with sheet music.
An accompanist will be provided by the orchestra.
10. Additional information
After receiving confirmation of qualification for the audition, candidates will be asked to declare their chosen concerto repertoire.
Candidates are kindly requested to inform the orchestra by 17 October 2025 if they decide to withdraw from the audition process.
