In memory of Elżbieta and Krzysztof Penderecki

On Sunday, November 22 at 6:00 PM, the Kraków Philharmonic will host a solemn commemorative concert honoring Elżbieta and Krzysztof Penderecki. The program will feature Joseph Haydn's Trumpet Concerto in E-flat major, Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 8 in F major, Op. 93, and works by Maestro Penderecki – Adagio from Symphony No. 3 (string version) and Sinfonietta No. 3 "Leaves from an Unwritten Diary."

The soloist for the evening will be the world-renowned Hungarian trumpeter Gábor Boldoczki, who premiered Krzysztof Penderecki's Concertino for Trumpet and Orchestra in 2015. In Haydn's concerto, he will perform virtuoso cadenzas written by the Professor himself.

Sinfonietta Cracovia – the Orchestra of the Royal Capital City of Kraków, whose municipal patronage was advocated by Elżbieta and Krzysztof Penderecki – will be conducted by Joanna Natalia Ślusarczyk, winner of Second Prize at the 2022 La Maestra competition in Paris and the 2024 Coryphaeus of Polish Music award in the Discovery of the Year category.
