About
The closing concert of Unsound at the Krakow Philharmonic will begin with a performance of Drift by Harry Górski-Brown and Wojciech Rusin, commissioned especially for the festival. The project was initiated at a sunrise concert at Ephemera in Warsaw. Today, it will be expanded further, with string musicians from Sinfonietta Cracovia joining the artists. Next up will be legendary composer and experimental artist Joan La Barbara, one of the leading vocalists of avant-garde classical music. It suffices to mention just a few of the composers La Barbara has collaborated with – such as Philip Glass, John Cage, Morton Feldman, and Steve Reich – to know that she has revolutionized the use of voice in classical music. The evening will be closed by composer Kara-Lis Coverdale. This year, she has released three different albums. Today's concert will focus on piano pieces from the album A Series of Actions in a Sphere of Forever, accompanied by Sinfonietta Cracovia performing the artist's orchestral works.
